These roads are being widened to permanent road thickness standards and for the following traffic needs:

Sheridan Parkway

4 lanes, Bike Lanes, and Landscaping/Sidewalks in the Center and East Medians

160th Avenue

Widening of the north permanent edge of the roadway with the addition of turn lanes, including Bike Lanes and sidewalk on the north side.

Traffic Signal

Completion of the 160th/Sheridan traffic signal to current signal design requirements.

What's the latest news?

Who's completing the project

The Baseline Metropolitan District is funding the project with publicly bid contracts.

What's the work schedule

A very small amount of paving remains on the project, unforeseen utility conflicts pushed the project into the winter of 2024-2025. Since the last stage of this project will require a final temporary closure of 160th Avenue as the 160th/Sheridan intersection will be milled and repaved, the City has requested that the project not restart until after the last day of school for Prospect Ridge Academy.

Remaining steps & estimated timeframes

June 2 – June 13, 2025

160th will be closed in the vicinity of the Sheridan intersection, but access to Huron street (east) and Lowell (west) will not be affected. Sheridan Parkway will still be open with managed traffic control.

June 13 to Mid-August

Final pavement and concrete work on the west side median edge, and final lane alignment. Full roadway closures will not be necessary to complete the work.

Mid-August – Late October, 2025

Completion of landscaping improvements. The contractor has been selected and awarded by the board to complete this work and is presently ordering materials for a fall completion.
